LOCATIONS. (under construction)

LOCATIONS.

BLEAKWOOD, ALASKA

Either: the Alaskan county including the lake and parts of the mountain territory, or specifically the five townships within the county. Also known as, You Are Here. MORE WORDS DESCRIBING THE TOWN GO HERE.

BLEAKWOOD LAKE

The lake is a favorite date nook for BCR boys and townsfolk alike. The BCR is located on one end of the lake, while the town's high school is located near the farthest opposite. Somewhere near the middle point (that isn't in the water) is a boats-for-rent shack, with a few cottages nearby that rents by the night. The lake is visible when driving to and from town or the school.

Morning: great for swimming. Afternoon: great for dating. Night: great for drowning and then resurfacing as a ghoulmonster with hankering for sexy sexy people flesh. It's a well known fact that the depths of the lake central is populated by rather territorial merpeople, who will tolerate their waters being shared by daylight, but are strict in enforcing boundaries come nightfall, along with a score of other nasties, multiplied more and more by the advancing of the Crawl, summing up to everyone in the area, magical and non, being well aware that the waters are off limits after dark if you value your well-being and personhood.

THE BARRETT-CROWLEY REFORMATORY

The school is situated on a mountain with a gradual slope. The main road leading up to the school's main gate is roughly sixty miles from the highway; it's the only road up if you're driving in from outside of town. The road branches off twice along its length, however; once to merge with the motorway leading to the closest metro, and again to lead to the nearest town. If driving in from closest town, it's about four miles up to the road and another two to the gates. (this is, of course, if one is driving.)

The school itself has spires everywhere, bunches of towers, with everything colored black on the outside to absorb what little warmth exists in this frigid location. The walls are rough and tarred on the outside, but smooth and cool on the inside. Outward-facing windows have tinted/painted glass planes, while inward-facing windows are clear. Some windows are arranged in geometric patterns or drawn on with spells and symbols.

Surrounding the school is a thick, foreboding forest, highly populated by monsters and malevolent spirits, warded by the BCR faculty, and well rumored to be a death trap among the townspeople.

THE TOWN(S)

Five townships, of a fairly rural but not barren leaning, make up the area known as Bleakwood.

You won't find super malls and towering corporate offices, but there's enough that the people can thrive without having to travel terribly far out to the closest metropolis center. It's common to see cabins and cottages scattering the area, as well as more clustered neighborhoods, depending on which part of the area you're passing through.

If you keep an ear to the gossiping young people, you might catch word of a rave going on in one of the warehouses or large barns further out into either the industrial area, or farming zones.

Unless, of course, the world has gone completely to hell already. And then nobody's partying. Womp, womp.

LAKE HOUSES

Houses. By the lake. Lake houses. Idk. This is a place holder.

SISTER AND BROTHER SCHOOLS.

The BCR isn't the only institution of its kind. Here are a few of the other known institutions and academies that focus on the education of magic users.

Barrett-Crowley Reformatory — And all boys school in the hill country of Alaska. The school is divided into four year levels (preparatory/high school), with each year further separated into eight classes. Each class represents a plane of magic, and is managed by a master or mistress. The first year of school is spent with "traditional" education. The second year is spent in mixed classes, to identify a student's line — the plane they belong to, and their specialty in said plane. Third year is spent honing and harnessing their theory and practice of magic. The fourth year is for hunting monsters. Those who live will graduate, while those who don't — well. You know. (Current Headmaster: Lies Adlmuller)

La Sororité — An all girls school in southern France; the school is strictly invitation-only, but does not require tuition or fees. It is independently run, and is publicly known as a finishing school to the non-magical population. (Current BCR Headmistress Lies AdlMuller is an alumni of the school.)

Colegio de Santo Tomás de Aquino — A co-ed institution in Madrid, Spain. Though relatively small compared to the BCR and La Sororité, the CSTA is the foremost university for magic users who wish to further and specialize their magical education and skill. Publicly, they work with the Vatican in training clergy in identifying actual cases of possession, translating ancient prophetic texts, and basically calling either bullshit or legit on claims of divine manifestations. (Current Headmaster: Sabina Idoia Rey)

Gosingtian Private School — Not much is known about the GPS, other than that it operates out of Macau, on the southeast coast of China. Other schools have attempted to contact the school, but to little success.

The Wellesley Sisters Academy — Not to be confused with the Wellesley College, the WSA is also an all girls school, and is publicly known as a liberal arts college. The WSA is one of the smaller magic schools, but is one of the more well-established in the United States.

Uehara Memorial High School — Co-ed private high school in the Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The school has a dormitory system similar to the BCR, but allows its students to live off-campus if they choose. The graduating rites at Uehara Memorial involves a hunt during the celebration of the new lunar year. (Current Headmaster: Ieyasu Uemura)

The JoBurg Collective — Less of a physical institution so much as a network of private educators, the South African institution actively seeks out magic users to educate and train individually. The collective maintains a three-floor office building in Johannesburg as a de-facto headquarters and containment facility. (Current Headmaster: Hulisani Visser)

EXTENDED LOCATIONS

Coming at some point, probably.
